“This was an extremely difficult decision to make, particularly given the amount of effort we have exerted to hold the November fairs successfully,” explains Ms Wilmet Shea, Deputy General Manager, Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. “However, with Shenzhen continuing to enforce strict pandemic containment measures, we have a duty both to support the local authorities as well as to ensure that participants can plan their arrangements with certainty.”
Ms Shea adds: “Given the challenges facing the textile industry at present, we know how important both fairs are in supporting business growth, particularly in the high potential Greater Bay Area. We are therefore working in close contact with the venue to find new dates next year for Intertextile Shenzhen Apparel Fabrics and Yarn Expo Shenzhen to return. In the meantime we are grateful for the support and understanding of all those involved.”
